Why now

The record is part of the culture.

TIHC is building the infrastructure that lets cultural knowledge remain findable, citable, connected and useful beyond a single exhibition, event or generation.

01 · RECORD

The work of artists, researchers and tradition keepers is not made more durable simply because it exists. Documentation has to be built.

02 · ACCESS

The Archive and Library create public-facing structures through which knowledge can be encountered, studied and connected across places.

03 · CONTINUITY

Support lets TIHC accumulate slowly rather than treating each programme as a one-off event.

What your support builds

One mandate. Distinct systems.

Support can follow the programme that matters to you, or remain unrestricted so TIHC can place it where it is most useful.

Sessions

Curated convenings experimenting with third spaces and temporary social infrastructure for proximity to ideas.

The Library

A mobile, relational knowledge infrastructure, itinerant across Switzerland and Europe rather than fixed to one room.

The Patronage Dossier

The full founding-patronage plan.

A 40-page account of TIHC's five-year institutional plan, patronage structure and founding relationships, shared directly with prospective patrons.

The position

TIHC operates at the interface between European institutions and the transnational creative economies of Asia, South America and Africa.

The work

We anchor authority in slow accumulation rather than episodic display, engineered to outlast its founders and their trends.

The invitation

Patrons, family offices and aligned corporations can enter a structured relationship with TIHC as founding supporters.

Beyond a financial gift

There are other ways to take part.

Expertise, literature, infrastructure, relationships and material collaboration can also move the work forward.

The Library

Give a book, or fund the shelf.

Recommend a text, donate a volume, or support an acquisition through the Library's submission protocol.

Bring the room to you.

If your own space can hold a room, TIHC can design a Sessions- or Library-style activation and bring the practitioners, including a Chapter built alongside your own material practice, where that practice genuinely belongs inside the research question.

Yes. TIHC is a registered Swiss association under Art. 60 of the Civil Code, Handelsregister Basel-Stadt CH-270.6.001.097-2, UID CHE-313.446.252, based in Basel. It is reviewed by the cantonal tax authority to keep its non-profit status.

No. TIHC membership is a community and support membership: an annual fee that supports the general programme and comes with benefits. It does not carry voting rights at the general assembly or a seat on the board. Formal association membership is separate.

Donations and patronage from Swiss residents are generally treated as tax-deductible under applicable cantonal rules. Membership fees are a fee for benefits and are not treated as a donation. Supporters outside Switzerland should check the rules in their own jurisdiction.

Named work. Support can underwrite the room and practitioners behind a Session, fieldwork and research behind an Archive dossier, Library acquisition and development, or a broader institutional commitment. TIHC can also discuss multi-year and in-kind structures.
